While we may not see the original cast of the games return, like Captain Shepard, Miranda Lawson or Garrus, it is possible that the protagonists of Andromeda, Sara and Scott Ryder, may appear in Mass Effect 5. Perhaps the most important information that can be gleaned from the teaser is the phrase “Andromeda distress signal detected”, confirming that the events of Mass Effect Andromeda will tie into the upcoming game. ///AUDIO TRANSCRIPT: ALTHOUGH THEY SHOULD KNOW BY NOW NOT TO UNDERESTIMATE HUMAN Mass Effect 5 may be titled Epsilon, as that’s the codename used in N7 Day’s teaser websites, which read the following before the teaser was decrypted from the site: Mass Effect Andromeda used the Frostbite engine much to the developer’s dismay at BioWare, leading to a variety of bugs and performance issues at the game’s launch. The next Mass Effect game was announced back in 2020, with a teaser showing Liara T’Soni from the original trilogy exploring a snowy planet. The teaser shows a character, possibly Liara, walking through a space station, draped in a uniform that could be out of Destiny 2 rather than a Mass Effect game, before cutting to black. The teaser comes after a series of cryptic videos uncovered by fans on the official BioWare website and reveals little about the upcoming RPG. BioWare has released a new teaser for the next Mass Effect game in celebration of N7 Day.
